Fundraising

Petrus is eligible for Gift Aid

Gift Aid allows charities such as Petrus to get an extra 25p for every £1 donated.

This means if you donate £20 to us with Gift Aid, we’d receive £25.

So instead of donating the cost of 20 meals, you’d have helped pay for 25!

What is Gift Aid?

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows UK charities like us to claim back from HMRC the basic rate of tax our donors have paid. It increases the value of donations we receive by 25%, meaning more money can go towards supporting people experiencing homelessness – and it won’t cost you extra!

For charities to claim Gift Aid on your donation, you will need to make a Gift Aid declaration. You can do this by simply ticking the Gift Aid box if you’re donating online. This just confirms that you’re a UK tax payer and that Gift Aid can be claimed on your donation.

Donate goods

Petrus is always in need of donations to support people who use the Hub services or live in our schemes. Whether it is food, clothing, furniture or toiletries, any donation is greatly appreciated. These items include:

  • Blankets
  • Sleeping bags
  • Gloves, hats and scarves – for men and women
  • Underwear – for men and women
  • Toiletries including sanitary products
  • Coffee, tea and sugar.

We can’t accept anything homemade or anything that contains tinfoil.

Our Facebook and Twitter pages are kept up-to-date with anything that we are in particular need of.

Petrus Store

Donating goods to the Petrus Community Store

The Petrus Community Store sells second-hand-quality goods such as furniture, homeware, books, music, clothing and more.

All funds raised helps to support people experiencing homelessness in the local area.

Please Note: Donations to the store are currently suspended during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We're asking if you could kindly keep a hold of your donations until we reopen.

In the meantime, we are seeking donations of food and clean new food containers for our Hub, so that we can continue to provide food to service users. To arrange drop off of any such donations please contact: 01706 526 289
