Pay bills or buy food, which would you choose?
Unfortunately, this is a choice many vulnerable people face. So much so, that we are currently providing over 300 meals, food parcels or vouchers for our community every week.
Housing insecurity and hunger are closely linked:
A kettle is not a kitchen – Many people living in temporary accommodation do not have access to ovens, fridges or freezers to cook and store nutritious meals.
This or that - People struggling with rising energy costs may have to pick and choose which appliances they can afford to run.
Where is my next meal coming from? – People sleeping rough face constant worries about where to find their next meal, what it will be and how they will afford it or get to it.

The impact of this?
A vicious cycle of stress and hunger – People experiencing food insecurity reported increased anxiety, depression and stress. The negative impacts on their mental health makes it harder to maintain employment, driving them further into poverty, (The Food Foundation, 2024).
Declining physical health – The NHS Confederation reports that ‘going hungry, even just a few times, is linked to decreased immunity and poorer mental and physical health, and can cause malnutrition, heart disease and fatigue.’
No one should have to go hungry or worry about where their next meal is coming from. We urgently need your support to ensure our Hub Kitchen is fully stocked and ready to serve up meals that are desperately needed in our community.

What is Kitchen Twinning, and how does it help?
