We’re pleased to announce our new partnership with Rochdale AFC Community Trust!
‘Rochdale AFC Changing Lives,’ is a football initiative designed to support people experiencing homelessness or living in supported accommodation. The programme aims to improve participants’ mental health, physical well-being, and social inclusion through free, inclusive football sessions.
The mission of Rochdale AFC Changing Lives is not only to offer accessible sporting activities but also to provide personal development opportunities, including pathways into volunteering, education, and employment. The initiative seeks to help individuals build long-term stability and improved well-being.
On Friday, 29 August 2025, Rochdale AFC Community Trust and Petrus joined forces for a charity sleepout at the Crown Oil Arena. The event raised a combined total of £7,875.52, with Rochdale AFC Community Trust using its share to help establish and support the new Rochdale AFC Changing Lives programme.
Scott Webster, Deputy Director of Rochdale AFC Community Trust, described the partnership as a significant step forward for the community.
“This is a great opportunity for both charities to continue working together to help combat homelessness within the borough of Rochdale,” he said. “Rochdale AFC Changing Lives will give individuals the chance to improve their health and well-being, develop a sense of community and belonging, and gain valuable skills for future progression.”
