Petrus Community Wins Diversity in Public Sector Partnership Award at Rochdale Diversity Awards

Petrus Community is proud to have won the Diversity in Public Sector Partnership Award for our Town Centre Outreach Initiative at the Rochdale Diversity Awards 2026.

On 30 October 2026, more than 350 guests came together at Rochdale Town Hall to celebrate the Rochdale Diversity Awards, recognising individuals, organisations and community groups making a positive contribution to equality, diversity and community cohesion across the borough.

Organised by the Kashmir Youth Project (KYP), the awards celebrate outstanding achievements in promoting inclusion and building stronger, more connected communities. With more than 130 nominations received, the Rochdale Diversity Awards 2026 showcased the incredible work taking place across Rochdale and the inspiring people behind it.

Sonia Denham, Managing Director at Petrus, said:

"I’m incredibly proud that Petrus Community won the Diversity in Public Sector Partnership Award for our Town Centre Outreach Initiative, and that we were also runners-up in the Breaking Barriers category. These accolades recognise the professional, heartfelt and determined work our teams bring to what they do every day.

Diversity is our strength, in Rochdale and beyond. Every person and organisation in that room last night had something to celebrate, and deserved recognition for the part they play in making our communities stronger.

We had the most wonderful evening at the beautiful Rochdale Town Hall, celebrating our rich diversity, our vision and our community. The KYP Kashmir Youth Project Diversity Awards 2026 lifted our spirits, celebrated our people and reminded us of the strength in our communities.”

KYP Kashmir Youth Project said:

“We were truly inspired by the passion, commitment and dedication demonstrated by everyone nominated, highlighting the people who go above and beyond to promote equality, diversity, inclusion and community cohesion.”

A huge congratulations to all the winners, finalists and nominees. It was inspiring to celebrate so many individuals, organisations and community groups whose dedication and commitment are making a real difference across Rochdale!
