This summer, we’re inviting local businesses, community groups, and supporters to get Hike for Petrus to help us provide safe accommodation, personalised support, wellbeing activities and access to hot meals, showers, and essentials for people experiencing homelessness across Rochdale and Greater Manchester.
Walk for Petrus - Team Challenge
We’re spotlighting a stunning 5km circular route through Luds Church and The Roaches - but feel free to choose your own date, time, or location!
Perfect for: teambuilding and wellbeing activities
Suggested donation: £10 per participant
Recommended route: 5km circular walk at Luds Church & The Roaches
Why take on the challenge?
Walking together is a brilliant way to support staff wellbeing, strengthen team relationships, and raise funds for a local homelessness charity. With a suggested £10 donation per participant, your organisation can make a meaningful contribution while enjoying time outdoors.
How your support helps
The number of people rough sleeping has more than doubled over the last decade and every day more people find themselves facing housing insecurity and homelessness. Your fundraising helps our teams to be there...
-
Making sure John can get a hot meal and drink after a cold night on the streets.
-
Providing Jane with a safe place to stay while fleeing an abusive relationship.
-
Helping Alan move into his own flat in one of our housing schemes.
-
Encouraging and guiding Alice to make and attend a GP appointment with her support worker.
-
Helping Ramesh find a new hobby that’s good for his mental health at PIER.
-
Making sure Alisha has someone to turn to before reaching crisis point.
And so much more!
Every donation has a huge impact
When you fundraise for Petrus, your donations go directly towards supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our society.
-
£5 could provide a vulnerable person with a daily hot meal for a week
-
£10 could provide a person with a hot shower, with toiletries, laundry facilities and clean underwear
-
£20 could provide a person with a mobile phone to maintain contact with support services and family members
-
£50 could provide all weather-clothing for two people to join nature-based wellbeing activities.
-
£100 could fund a community outreach session to help connect people in need with our services
Together, we will end homelessness and create safe places where all people can flourish. Donations can be made, here.
