Join our one mile walking challenge today and together we will end homelessness.
Due to the current restrictions in the UK, many fundraising events that support charities such as ourselves have been postponed. As we’re asked to stay indoors as best we can to protect one another, many of us will be limiting time outside to just going for small walks. So we’re inviting you to take part in our walking challenge!
It only takes three steps to complete the challenge:
1. Go for a mile walk, run or jog (whatever you prefer!)
Walking has many great physical, mental health and wellbeing benefits, and now it can help others too! A mile walk only takes on average 15 to 20 minutes to do.

How going that extra mile supports Petrus
Donations made to Petrus help us to provide accommodation and support to people facing homelessness or in housing need.
Right now, we're continuing to deliver a takeaway breakfast service every weekday for people in the community at our Petrus Hub, and preparing food for residents in our housing projects. Donations support us to fund these free meals as well as clothing and toiletries.
Our team are offering support and advice over the phone around accessing housing, helping with benefits and utilities, and regularly contacting our service users to check for support needs and help with mental wellbeing. Our free shower and laundry facilities are also still available by appointment. Any donations we receive enable us to support people to have access to these services.
We’re seeing a rise in supporting people who we've previously not had contact with and have experienced 'hidden homelessness' as the current situation has led to their temporary accommodation becoming unstable (e.g. had been staying with friends). Your donation helps us to support those reaching out to us.

Steps to take to stay safe!
If you’d like to join our walking challenge, make sure you’re following Government guidance on social distancing by staying more than 2 metres from others.
This challenge is safe to do alone or with other members of your household. Please do not take part if you're experiencing symptoms of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
