Petrus People Community Store  happy first birthday
Petrus the local homeless charity recently celebrated 12 months of operating the Petrus Community Store on Hamer Lane, Rochdale. The Community Store recycle goods including furniture, clothing, bric-a-brac and household goods. Proceeds from the sale of goods will go towards helping to support the work of Petrus with local homeless people. In addition these ventures help provide some goods to individuals without money and provide volunteering, training and employment opportunities.

The Bishop of Manchester David Walker and Imam Irfan Chishti presided at the Community Store celebrations cutting a birthday cake which was shared with 80 guests. These included Cllr Richard Farnell Leader of the Council, local councillors, religious leaders and supporters. Both the Bishop and Imam praised the work of Petrus and how such grass roots based organisations help to bring communities together and the ventures depend on the active support of the community.
