Retired police officer brings festive cheer to Rochdale's homeless for the third consecutive year

Fundraiser Andy O'Sullivan teamed up with the team at his local Morrisons Supermarket in Bacup, to raise vital funds for Petrus Community.

Andy, who regularly competes in running competitions on the homelessness charity's behalf, collected 350 across the festive period. The donations were used to provide a traditional Christmas dinner to Petrus service users.

Andy O'Sullivan said: "I am delighted that we have been able to raise vital funds for Petrus again this year.

"I would like to thank Nikki, Lynne, and Carrie and all of the staff at Morrisons, along with the volunteers, and a special thanks to Sandra and her daughter Gabby, who have supported me in all of my fundraising efforts during 2017.

"It is important that we let those less fortunate than us know that we are thinking of them at Christmas."

Denis Skelton, Petrus Co-ordinator, said: "Once again we are indebted to the fantastic fundraising work of Andy, who has supported us throughout the year.

"We would also like to thank Morrisons, Bacup, for their support too."
