Petrus PIER Art Project Update and Other Events

Sculpture Project

As you may know our sculpture project funded by Kew Gardens Grow Wild has begun and is so far looking like it will be fantastic. We have now changed the venue for the sessions to the new Petrus Shop in the Rochdale Exchange as this will help us to make the sessions more accessible. There is lots to get involved in and things that everybody can do whether they pop in for one session or every session.

Please share the updated poster with your networks.

Guided Walk in Healey Dell

Also, as part of the project we have organised a guided walk through Healey Dell with the Rochdale Field Naturalists where people can have the opportunity to learn about the native species of wildlife and wildflowers that are on our door step. This will take place on 7th June 1:30 3:30pm. Places are limited so please get in touch to book a space.

National Big Lunch and Sunflower Competition

In addition to the above the time of our Big Lunch is fast approaching. The Big Lunch is a national campaign to bring communities together by eating lunch together. People all over the UK will be coming together over that week to join each other for lunch. We are encouraging people to bring a picnic lunch to our allotment on Friday 16th June between 12 and 2pm. On the day we will also be planting out any sunflowers that are to be entered into our sunflower competition. So if you happen to be growing any we would love you to bring one down to enter. The winner will be announced on the 25th August at our Grow Wild Celebration Event. We hope to create a wall of sunflowers so we need as many entries as possible!
